Fearless. Unbeholden.

Fearless. Unbeholden.

We’re here to do good, not to be nice. The Institute for Advanced Criminal Law Studies is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit turning the criminal “justice” system on its head from a criminal-defense perspective. We train lawyers. We fight injustice. We strategize to improve the law. And we don’t owe favors or pull punches.

Why IACLS

Bar associations serve lawyers; we serve freedom. We don’t need people to like us. We answer to no one and nothing but the cause of liberty. When a judge oversteps, a DA twists the law, or a dead tradition needs burying, we go straight for the root.

Training

We bring the best, most innovative speakers you’ve never seen to teach the bar how to hone arguments, sharpen trial tactics, and stay two steps ahead of the prosecution.

Accountability

We file judicial-conduct complaints, attack unethical marketing, and shine a spotlight on corruption in high places.

Success

We provide tools to make it easier for lawyers to focus on their job: defending people’s freedom.

    Our Mission

Our mission is simple: improve the world by defending freedom, one battle at a time. We tackle the systemic problems that everyone gripes about but nobody fixes. We don’t mind ruffling feathers. If you’ve been looking for a project that actually moves the needle, you just found it. If you’ve got a project you’ve always wanted to pursue but have never had the support for, welcome aboard.

    How We Started

Before IACLS, brave lawyers worked solo or in ad hoc crews, hitting problems with everything from constitutional challenges to guerrilla courtroom tactics. They shut down a judge’s plea mill, took a sledgehammer to speech-chilling penal statutes, and unmasked shady lawyer-marketing tactics. They won. But they were scattered. No unifying banner. No efficient method to keep the momentum going. That’s why we formed IACLS: to coordinate these fearless efforts and magnify their impact.
